Job summary

Accelevation is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer II to design, implement, and support industrial automation and control systems for switchgear and switchboard products. The role emphasizes PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-performance, compliant electrical infrastructure.

The candidate will lead system integration, testing, commissioning, and documentation efforts while traveling for on-site deployments and startup support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in industrial automation and control systems including switchgear/switchboard.
• Strong PLC programming skills.
• Experience with HMI interfaces and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial equipment and switchgear/switchboard applications.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
• Develop, configure, and maintain HMI and SCADA apps.
• Perform system integration, testing, commissioning, and startup support.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and docs.
• Diagnose and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and production teams.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety regulations, and policies.
• Provide training to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Travel as needed for commissioning and on-site support.
