Job summary

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC is seeking an Automation and Controls Designer to develop industrial control panel designs, select instrumentation components, and prepare technical documentation to meet customer specifications. You will interface with manufacturing during construction and may assist with programming and testing of final products.

The role focuses on projects across Industrial and Water/Wastewater Municipal markets, requiring strong collaboration, attention to detail, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical automation field or equivalent experience.
Experience reading P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Proficient with PLC I/O schematics and relay logic; motor control / VFDs.
Experience with MS Office and Adobe tools.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Consult with engineering and project teams to clarify assignments.
Review specs and drawings to understand project scope.
Select components to meet integration requirements and build BOMs.
Create instrumentation schedules per specifications.
Collaborate with CAD on panel layout, thermal considerations, and schematics.
Review CAD drawings, submittals, and O&Ms; prepare test forms for FAT, ORT, PAT.
Draft RFIs and change orders; assist shop during panel construction.
