Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power in Michigan City, IN, seeks an Assembly Technician to build compressors and related components. You will follow Work Center Instructions, P&I, WD, and BOM to assemble, wire, test and inspect final machines, while maintaining safety and quality standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent and a minimum of two years post high school training/experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ previous manufacturing assembly experience required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read simple blueprints, wiring diagrams/drawings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble compressors in assigned area using Work Center Instructions (WCI), Piping & Instrumentation (P&I), Wiring Diagram (WD) and BOM.
• Apply decals to machines as needed and ensure proper labeling.
• Wire machines, terminate wire harnesses, and test electrical controls/components.
• Assemble frames, separator tanks, engines and air ends per BOM or WCI.
• Connect motor leads, install tubing and fit components per WD/BOM.
• Inspect finished machines and ensure quality before entering finished goods.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and follow safety rules.
