Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering design and customer needs. You will analyze specifications, propose configurations, and collaborate with sales and service teams to craft tailored solutions.

On-site responsibilities include quotes, orders, and occasional on-site support. Ideal candidates have experience in industrial equipment sales, a related degree, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial equipment sales and procurement.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or similar field.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer inquiries about new equipment or service of existing equipment.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.

• Generate quotes via CRM or ERP and manage electronic quote and order files.
• Enter and process customer purchase orders, acting as a liaison between the manufacturer / supplier and the customer.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, including CAD drawings and BOMs.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Receive customer inquiries about new equipment or service of existing equipment
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.

What You'll Need:

• Experience in industrial equipment sales and procurement
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or similar field.
• Experience with sizing and selection of rotating equipment (pumps and motors)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
