Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Practice Leader to grow and lead our Industrial & Data Centers market presence across the organization. This leadership role focuses on expanding revenue, building strong client partnerships, and developing high-performing teams.

The role sits within our Growth Team, leveraging a lifecycle service mix of environmental, civil, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing to support industrial and private clients. Flexible location within the S&ME footprint.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in project, program, or market leadership roles.
Proven ability to win and deliver opportunities in Industrial/Data Center markets.
PMI PMP certification is a plus.
Professional licensure (PE/PG or equivalent) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for Industrial/Data Centers that aligns with company goals.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue within the market for core services.

Practice Leader - Industrial & Data Centers

Location: Flexible within S&ME footprint.

S&ME is seeking a motivated and results‑driven Practice Leader to help us expand into and lead our growth in the Industrial & Data Centers market across the organization. As the Industrial & Data Centers Practice Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping S&ME's presence in a high‑demand, rapidly evolving market by driving new revenue, building client partnerships, and developing high‑performing teams.

The Industrial & Data Center market segment is part of S&ME's Business Growth Team where we utilize our life‑cycle approach to provide core services of environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, along with construction materials testing services and special inspections to support our industrial and private clients.

We invite passionate leaders to join our team. This individual can be based near any S&ME office location.

What You Will Do

Drive Growth and Market Expansion

Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the Industrial/Data Centers market that aligns with company initiatives and goals.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the market for our key services: environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing services, and special inspections.

Build Relationships that Matter

Establish and grow key client relationships at local, regional, and national levels within the market.
Collaborate with local operations and expand existing client relationships.
Leverage your network and industry presence to position S&ME as a trusted partner for each of our service lines.
Deliver exceptional client experiences that lead to repeat business and long‑term partnerships.

Lead, Build, and Inspire Teams

Partner with internal leaders to build the team, capabilities, and resources needed to scale.
Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.

Deliver Excellence

Ensure projects are executed with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement to keep S&ME at the forefront.

What You Bring

Proven success driving revenue growth in core services (geotechnical, environmental, civil, and construction materials testing/special inspections) within Industrial, Data Centers, or similar markets.
Strong network and client relationships within the industrial and/or data center industry.
10+ years of progressive experience in project, program, or market leadership roles.
A proven track record of winning and delivering opportunities for multiple clients within the Industrial and Data Center market.
Relevant professional licensure (PE/PG or equivalent) is a plus.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
