Job summary

The Imagine Group is seeking an Industrial Engineer to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes to boost safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance. This role will research, recommend, and implement changes to production processes, methods, and controls to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, or related field.
  • Degree completed within approximately the past two to three years or equivalent early-career experience.
  • Up to three years of relevant experience gained through employment, internships, co-ops, research, or military service.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production and business processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, quality concerns, and opportunities to improve throughput.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret operational data; build reports, dashboards, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, capacity analysis, process mapping, and layout reviews.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, and root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, labor standards, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with frontline employees and cross-functional teams to test, implement, and sustain changes.
  • Assist with cost-benefit analysis, project planning, risk assessment, and measurement of results.
  • Evaluate material flow, staffing, equipment utilization, inventories, ergonomics, and workplace safety.
  • Present findings and project updates clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Participate in new equipment/product/process introductions as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods and operational processes. This role will research, recommend, and implement changes to production processes, methods, and controls to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance. Additionally, the Industrial Engineer will support manufacturing launches for new and revised products by analyzing workflow, capacity utilization, space requirements, material flow, and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency. The Industrial Engineer will improve existing processes, develop innovative solutions, and help eliminate waste and unnecessary labor costs across enterprise locations.

Job Description:

  • Analyze production and business processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, quality concerns, and opportunities to improve throughput.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related field.
  • Degree completed within approximately the past two to three years, or equivalent early-career experience.
  • Up to three years of relevant experience gained through full-time employment, internships, co-ops, research, military service, or substantial academic projects.

Preferred Qualifications of Position:

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, healthcare, service operations, or a related setting.
  • Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma tools, statistical process control, simulation, optimization, or design of experiments.
  • Experience with data-visualization, CAD, ERP/MRP, SQL, statistical-analysis, or process-simulation software.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification or interest in obtaining one.
  • Familiarity with automation, sensors, connected operations, or other Industry 4.0 technologies.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Foundational knowledge of process improvement, statistics, operations analysis, production systems, or quality methods.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software and the ability to organize, analyze, and explain data.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and project-organization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in office and operational environments and to observe processes directly on the floor.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work
  • Frequent walking and standing.
