Job summary
JTEKT Automotive seeks a Sr. Production Engineer focused on induction heat treatment at our Piedmont, SC site. You’ll manage parameters, lead root-cause fixes, and drive reliability improvements across multiple heat-treat lines.
You will mentor technicians, coordinate coil work with vendors, and support new equipment through APQP/PPAP processes. A strong metallurgical background and automotive experience are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent with relevant experience.
- 5+ years in induction heat treatment in automotive/high-volume manufacturing.
- Capital procurement and equipment grooming experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee induction heat treatment process parameters across machines and lines.
- Lead root-cause investigations for case depth, hardness deviations, and defects.
- Own preventive maintenance strategy and reliability improvements for equipment.
- Coordinate coil design/rework with vendors for process changes.
- Support APQP/PPAP and PFMEA for heat treat processes and new equipment.
- Provide technical oversight and mentor technicians; support 5S and safety.
