Job summary

iLearn Schools is seeking a High School Assistant Coach for Indoor Track to support the Head Coach in training student-athletes in grades 9-12. You’ll help run practices, manage game-day logistics and ensure compliance with school and NJSIAA rules while fostering a culture of accountability and character development.

The position emphasizes dedication to academics, sportsmanship, and student safety, with a stipend dependent on sport and season length.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certification required.
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching must be completed before first employment.
• NFHS Concussion in Sports and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses completed.
• One-time BeNice NFHS training completed.
• Public school coaches must hold NJ teaching or substitute credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with daily practices, games and tournaments.
• Ensure compliance with NJSIAA, DOE guidelines and school policies.
• Verify athlete medical clearance before participation.
• Distribute, track and collect uniforms; maintain equipment accountability.
• Support fundraising and travel logistics as directed by the Head Coach.
• Promote safety, discipline, sportsmanship and academic focus.
• Travel with the team on school-provided transport and supervise athletes.
