Zusammenfassung

The Summit Area YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to lead the indoor pool operations, supervise lifeguards, coordinate staff scheduling and payroll, ensure safety and compliance, and support swim lessons and aquatic events.

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Senior Aquatics Director and requires lifeguard and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, plus hands-on aquatics experience and supervision background.

Qualifikationen

• Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification, American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification, or equivalent.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Associate’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of aquatics experience, including lifeguarding and swim instruction.
• Minimum of one (1) year of staff supervisory experience, including staff scheduling, performance feedback, and accountability.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent preferred, with ability to obtain YMCA training in time.
• Knowledge of swim lesson delivery and swimmer progressions.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe aquatic environment and handle emergencies.

Aufgaben

• Oversee daily indoor pool operations, including staffing coverage and safety.
• Supervise lifeguards and Head Guards; manage scheduling and payroll.
• Conduct lifeguard audits and monthly trainings; lead weekly drills.
• Monitor pool chemical testing and water quality records.
• Respond to incidents and complete required documentation.
• Coordinate staff certifications and compliance training.
• Enforce safety standards for activities and lessons.
• Supervise swim lessons; observe instruction and provide feedback.
• Maintain pool schedules and communicate changes to staff.
• Maintain pool areas, equipment, and inventory.
• Assist with participant check-in, events, and programs.
• Support staff development and member experience with Senior Program Director.
