Job summary

Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security offers a fast-paced internship (YGP) in Washington, DC, Join IPSI to track and support defense and security projects, conduct research, and contribute to panels, workshops, and briefings.

Roles include coordinating day-to-day operations, drafting materials, and promoting core events. The position requires full-time in-office presence four days a week, with hourly compensation of $18.50.

Qualifications

• College junior in good standing or graduate/recent graduate, major in Asian Studies, IR, National Security, or related field.
• Interest in Indo-Pacific defense and deterrence topics; familiarity with China and North Korea is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence; experience interfacing with Indo-Pacific stakeholders preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and attention to detail for various lengths and formats.
• Strong organizational, logistical, time-management skills.
• MS Office proficiency; experience with social media, websites, and email marketing desirable.
• Willingness to work full-time in Washington, DC four days a week.
• Mandarin skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IPSI’s day-to-day operations for ongoing projects.
• Support event planning and logistics for public and private events.
• Assist with communications and promotion via email, web, and social media.
• Edit and source citations for technical reports and briefings.
