Job summary

Atlantic Council seeks a talented, dynamic project assistant for the Indo-Pacific Security Initiative at the Scowcroft Center. The role supports project tasks, rounds tables, briefings, and workshops while coordinating travel, schedules, and communications in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and strong organizational, research and writing skills, with readiness to work evenings and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Proven organizational, logistical, project/event management and administrative skills.
  • Familiarity with defense issues and deterrence theory through study or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and multi-task to meet competing demands.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel if needed.
  • Attention to detail and excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Experience with tabletop exercises, wargames, seminars or workshops is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for projects and programming (scheduling, information requests, reporting handling).
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for events (structure, agendas, invitations, participant tracking).
  • Manage travel arrangements and expense documentation for project personnel and invitees.
  • Implement communications and promotion strategies around core events (email, social media, multimedia).
  • Support research, drafting, editing, proofreading, and graphical work for project reports and briefings.
