Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to visit the homes of children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in North Brunswick, NJ.

You will support behavioral therapists, implement tailored intervention plans, and help foster family collaboration and progress toward therapeutic goals. The role emphasizes safety, compassionate care, and hands-on support in daily activities, communication with families, and documenting youth progress.

Qualifications

• College degree with one year of experience or HS diploma/GED with three years supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with IDD.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavioral therapists to create individualized behavioral therapy programs for children and adolescents.
• Implement individualized service plans in home and community settings.
• Provide behavioral interventions and monitor youth with behavioral challenges.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment and establish safety standards.
• Instruct youth on positive behavioral practices and document observations for adjustments.
• Develop and supervise engaging recreational activities supporting emotional and social growth.

Your Day as an Individual Support Worker
