Job Title: Manager, Individual Giving West

Department:Development

Location: Western USA

Reports to:Director, Individual Giving

Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Manager, Individual Giving West.

The Manager, Individual Giving West is responsible for securing gifts and revenue generated from individual donors living in the western half of the United States. The candidate will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals for mid-level gifts (up to $25,000). This team member has direct impact on the organization’s reputation among donors, as well as the financial and operational performance of the Development Department and the larger organization.

Qualifications:

  • Must live in the Western United States. Preference given to candidates who live near or in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Las Vegas and Seattle. At least three years of proven experience in individual giving fundraising. CFRE preferred. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Every Action or similar CRM software. Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel 25% of the time. Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Valid driver’s license. Acceptable MVR (annual). Criminal background check. Passion for Operation Homefront’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, manage and maintain individual donor strategies for a portfolio of 125+ individual donors and prospects. Raise $300,000 from individual donors in the first 12 months of employment. The revenue goal will increase to at least $350,000 in the second year of employment. Ensure timely and accurate data management. Support the Director, Individual Giving and Vice President, Individual Giving in advancing the Individual Giving program.

Specific Duties:

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward current and prospective donors with capacity of up to $25,000. Prepare and present compelling funding proposals. Track and analyze fundraising metrics in the database and pipeline tracking document. Create and deliver detailed reports on progress. Utilize fundraising and marketing tools to enhance giving efforts. Engage with donors through various giving vehicles including cash and non-cash gifts. Align efforts with the development team to set and achieve fundraising goals. Maintain strong relationships with donors, keeping them informed about the impact of their contributions and organizational activities. Organize, support, attend and analyze donor stewardship and fundraising events. Work with internal departments to support donor communication efforts and stewardship work. Adhere to performance standards and internal controls, policies, and procedures. Work with Volunteer Services to engage donors and prospects in volunteer activities. Identify opportunities to increase donor giving, including monthly and annual contributions, multi-year gifts, and reengage lapsed donors. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Details:

General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events to include overnight travel. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
