Description

The Children's Home is seeking a Full-Time Individual Giving Manager as a key member of The Children's Home of Pittsburgh's development team. This position will lead the individual gift strategy and solicitation while overseeing the Development Office's administrative infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all individual donors, with primary responsibility for The Children’s Home’s annual giving program.

Essential Functions:
1.Fundraising

a. Designs and manages all fundraising activities and strategies related to individual giving, with an emphasis on annual and mid-level gifts, to reach The Children’s Home's financial goals; examples include direct mail, online giving, monthly donor program, and workplace giving campaigns.

b. Develops and implements strategies and activities related to individual giving, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, to ensure a high-quality donor experience with input from the development team. Works with the Director of Development to develop strategies for moving supporters along the donor continuum, preparing them for higher annual and major gifts.

c. Provides leadership in goal setting and strategy development for individual giving solicitations.

d. Manages a portfolio of prospects; designs and implements creative solicitation and stewardship strategies.

e. Executes an annual work plan, including a solicitation timeline and program outlines, to ensure the effective and timely solicitation of donors.

f. Tracks fundraising progress toward established goals and prepares regular reports on results and strategies.

g. Communicates frequently and collaborates with staff, leadership, and volunteers to increase philanthropic support and advance the agency's strategic goals.

2.Donor Relations

a. Collaborates with Donor and Database Coordinator on strategy around The Children’s Home’s acknowledgment process to ensure timely, personalized, and donor-centered acknowledgments across all giving levels.

b. Designs and coordinates cultivation, and stewardship plans to strengthen individual donor relationships and increase the likelihood of continued and increased giving.

c. Works with Director of Development and colleagues to develop donor-centered messaging so that supporters have a clear understanding of how philanthropy advances agency’s mission and the impact of their gifts.

d. Designs and implements an annual fundraising communications plan for The Children’s Home, including appeals, donor newsletters, impact reports, web content, social media, and special campaigns. Works closely with marketing, fundraising, and program relations colleagues to ensure that the plan supports goals for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding all audiences.

e. Plans and supports donor recognition and cultivation events to strengthen donor relationships, recognize contributions, and increase awareness of The Children's Home's mission and funding needs in collaboration with the Events and Development Manager.

3. Prospect Management

a. Develops and maintains a comprehensive prospect management system to optimize the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors.

b. Coordinates the identification of donors and prospects with the capacity and inclination to increase their giving or to support specific initiatives.

c. Assists in developing strategies to move identified donors and pipeline prospects toward major and planned gifts.

Requirements
Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree required.
  2. Minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; background in annual fund management, donor database systems, and individual giving preferred.
  3. Knowledge of and experience with fundraising techniques and best practices, including moves management, direct mail, and online giving programs.
  4. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; adept at problem solving and sound judgment.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage multi-phase projects from inception to completion, including balancing multiple concurrent priorities.
  6. Experience working with DonorPerfect database management required.
  7. Experience working or volunteering for a nonprofit organization required.
  8. Understanding and knowledge of principles and strategies of nonprofit development.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication abilities.
  10. Experience supervising staff and the ability to collaborate across teams and build consensus.
  11. Ability to travel independently to meet with prospects, donors, and community partners.
  12. Commitment to the agency's mission and the communities it serves.
Functional Requirements:
  1. Sedentary position must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  2. Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 10-50 pounds as required to access file boxes, supplies, etc.
  3. Manual dexterity is necessary to operate computer and telephone systems, and other typical office equipment.
  4. Physical ability to perform job requirements of usual and customary office procedures and communications.
  5. Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel locally for business related to The Children's Home.
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and work with others.
  7. Office environment, no unusual environmental factors.
