New York Common Pantry seeks an Individual Giving Manager to join our Development team at 8 East 109th Street, New York, NY 10029. This frontline fundraising role manages a donor portfolio at the $1,000–$9,999 level and collaborates with the Managing Director of Development to move donors from annual giving into leadership and major gift readiness.

You will cultivate relationships with approximately 200 mid-level donors, coordinate engaging outreach, and help craft persuasive appeal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Through an array of programs that we offer, we look to establish long-term stability for those we serve.

NYCP is seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our Development team. The Individual Giving Manager is a vital frontline fundraising role responsible for managing a donor portfolio of individuals giving at the $1,000 - $9,999 level. Working in collaboration with the Managing Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager will identify and move donors from the annual fund to the mid-level pipeline with a focus on retaining, reactivating, and upgrading donors at the mid-level.

The Individual Giving Manager will report to the Managing Director of Development at the 8 East 109th Street, New York, NY 10029 location. The position is full-time, exempt. This role has flexibility for hybrid work, but is required to be in the office at least three (3) times a week.

Responsibilities

• Actively cultivate and deepen relationships with a portfolio of approximately 200 mid-level donors at the $1,000-$9,999 level by strategically engaging with and personally stewarding current and potential donors. Support the growth of the pipeline through qualification work, prospect identification, donor movement tracking, and other strategic initiatives designed to move donors from annual giving into leadership and major gift readiness.
• Serve as a primary frontline fundraiser, articulating NYCP’s mission, holistic programs, and funding priorities to donors, prospects, and stakeholders through direct outreach. Complete regular meaningful donor connections each month through phone calls, personalized emails, virtual meetings, in-person visits, and site tours.
• Enhance engagement with current supporters, monthly donors, new donors, lapsed donors, and prospects by working with Development colleagues to craft persuasive solicitation letters, special appeal communications, and other essential correspondence that aligns with organizational goals and donor expectations.
• Implement a comprehensive engagement and stewardship strategy for mid-level donors that deepens relationships, enriches the donor experience, and maximizes long-term philanthropic support through meaningful engagement and participation in our mid-level giving society.
• In collaboration with the Managing Director of Development and Chief Development Officer, identify mid-level donors who are ready to be moved to major gift levels of support and engagement.
• Partner with the Development Database Administrator to research current and prospective donors to maintain a dynamic and strategic prospect pipeline.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor records by entering fundraising activities, including contact reports, activity tracking, documentation of pledges, and strategy updates.
• Partner with the Programs team to develop meaningful donor engagement opportunities, including site visits, program experiences, and impact stories that demonstrate the impact of donor support.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in nonprofit development, individual giving, frontline fundraising, or donor relations.
• Demonstrated success in frontline fundraising and relationship-based philanthropy. Experience managing mid-level donor portfolios preferred.
• Commitment to helping communities in need and NYCP’s work and mission.
• Accomplished interpersonal skills with the diplomacy and poise required to deal with board members, volunteers, and major and high-profile donors.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
• Effective team player and demonstrates a collaborative approach when working with colleagues.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.

Pay: $80,000 - $90,000/year - commensurate with experience
