Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana serves more than 1,000 youth annually ages 8 - 25 in Hamilton, Johnson, and Marion Counties. We partner with parents/caregivers, volunteers, schools, and the donors in our community to defend, ignite, and empower the potential of every child we serve.
Purpose of this function: The Development & Engagement team forges powerful partnerships with corporations, individuals, and the broader community to recruit mentors, fuel 1:1 and programmatic mentoring, and drive sustainable fund development serving as a unified team that amplifies mission engagement.
Purpose of this role: Lead and strategically implement best practices in volunteer recruitment, relationship building, events, and drive results.

Individual Giving Manager, Outcomes & Expectations:
- Manage and renew or secure new gifts for the Light One Match Society and execute strategic annual opportunities for donors to engage, provide ongoing/consistent stewardship, and build programming
- Maintain a portfolio of Light One Match Society donors, building those key relationships & invite new donors to be part of this giving society
- Manage all reporting related to the Light One Match Society and all Individual Giving campaigns
- Expand, develop, and grow the Giving Tuesday Campaign with increased participation and engagement from Bigs & Alumni to achieve/exceed annual goals, while sustaining a place for Major Donors to have a direct impact, through challenge giving that produces impactful results annually.
- Develop strategic plans to grow monthly giving and bolster overall annual entry-level gifts below the $1,000 threshold.
- Create a Big Alumni and Little Alumni Association to create long-term relationships with those who have been a part of our program and helping tell the story of the life-long impact of our mission.
- Develop and manage the Alumni Hall of Fame nominations and recognition annually
- Coordinate stewardship events and opportunities for individual donors to engage with and/or support the mission by working closely with the program department.
- Research matching gift opportunities and communicate/leverage these with donors.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and accessible records for all activities, donors, and goals in Raiser’s Edge.
- Manage projects and complete funder applications or reports as assigned.
- Support other efforts of the development department as needed.
General:
- Support the development team in meeting all fundraising goals.
- Attend required meetings and events as scheduled.
- Establish and promote positive communication among all team members of BBBSCI to increase collaboration and reduce inefficiencies.
- Represent BBBSCI in a professional manner at all times, providing courteous service to both internal and external constituent and presenting a positive image of BBBSCI.
- Abide by BBBSCI policies and practices.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Evaluation of Performance
Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working effectively in a team environment; and demonstrating the values of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.
Experience, education, degrees, and licenses
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in nonprofit management, event planning, and fundraising
- 3+ years in non-profit & fundraising experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software and experience with or ability to learn Raiser’s Edge NXT database.
- Will be required to participate in continuing education programs as requested.
Physical demands/Work environment
- Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment.
- Required to travel approximately 20-40% of time to meet potential donors, partners, vendors or consultants, attend conferences and meetings, etc. Travel is generally within Central Indiana.
- Must have reliable transportation. Drivers of privately owned vehicles must have a valid driver’s license and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
- Must be able to pass a background check consisting of National Sex Offender, Criminal History and driving check.
