Computacenter (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead the Americas tax function. You will manage a team, ensure compliance for sales, use, and property taxes, and drive process improvements across IT, Commercial, and Finance interfaces.

In this role, you will review data, support audits, and implement automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The position requires strong tax expertise, leadership, and cross-country communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a corporate tax function (public or private)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related business area
  • CPA preferred
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office and MS Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
  • Good knowledge of the IT industry and an understanding of IT technologies and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues in different countries where English is not the first spoken language
  • Good self-organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of tax professionals to consistently deliver all sales, use, and property tax obligations in a timely manner
  • Prepare, review, and analyze sales, use, and property tax compliance data; continuously improve processes, and recommend automation integration to improve the end-to-end compliance process and reliability of results
  • Partner with IT, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure accurate upstream data feeding the tax engine
  • Support indirect tax audits; compile and review requested documentation and audit workpapers, document results and assist in implementing solutions to reduce future exposure
  • Review month end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for indirect tax accounts
  • Research, analyze, and communicate the impact of indirect tax law developments
  • Monitor and evaluate business activities for filing responsibilities and nexus exposure to mitigate indirect tax deficiencies
  • Research, understand, and determine the taxability of the goods and services being sold and purchased by the company
  • Facilitate special projects, and perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by leadership
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure proper tax treatment for new products and business initiatives
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values

About the role

As the Indirect Tax Manager, you will report to the Head of Tax, Americas. Your primary responsibilities include working with internal and external partners to ensure all indirect tax compliance, audit, and accounting obligations are completed. This role requires a strong drive to identify and implement process improvements, lead change, maintain acute attention to detail, and proactively seek opportunities to improve established ways of working.

What you’ll be doing
  • Manage a team of tax professionals to consistently deliver all sales, use, and property tax obligations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze sales, use, and property tax compliance data; continuously improve processes, and recommend automation integration to improve the end-to-end compliance process and reliability of results.
  • Partner with IT, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure accurate upstream data (product master, ship-to/ship-from logic, pricing, customer exemptions) feeding the tax engine.
  • Expertly support indirect tax audits; compile and review requested documentation and audit workpapers, document results and assist in implementing solutions to reduce future exposure.
  • Review month end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
  • Research, analyze, and communicate the impact of indirect tax law developments.
