Job summary

CRH is seeking an Indirect Tax Audit & Controversy Manager to lead state and local indirect tax audits, respond to authorities, and drive favorable resolutions. This role partners with Tax, Accounting, Legal, Operations, and external advisors to strengthen controls and optimize tax positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years indirect tax experience with state and local audits.
• Experience managing tax audits from initiation to resolution.
• Knowledge of state/local indirect tax laws, exemptions, and procedures.
• Experience with ERP systems and tax tech platforms, preferably SAP and Vertex O Series.
• CPA or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead state and local indirect tax audits from initial notification through final resolution.
• Serve as primary contact for taxing authorities and coordinate audit activities.
• Analyze audit findings and develop defense positions for negotiations.
• Manage multiple audits with timely responses and deadlines.
• Identify opportunities for refunds, credits, and reductions of tax exposure.
