Job summary

Mavis Discount Tire is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst for our Operations Support Center in White Plains, NY. You will manage sales and use tax compliance, audits, and accounting obligations while working with internal and external partners to apply tax rules to retail purchases.

The role emphasizes process improvement, precision, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years tax experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2+ years of Sales and Use Tax experience (public or private).
• Demonstrate strong organization and time management attributes with ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Knowledge of state and local (multi-jurisdictional) sales/use tax laws and their application to retail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; Dynamics 365 a plus.
• Experience responding to customers’ sales tax questions and providing taxability guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to translate complex tax rules for partners and customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all sales and use tax compliance, audit, and accounting obligations are completed.
• Analyze applicability of sales & use tax on business purchases and ensure correct GL classification.
• Manage vendor questions for resale certificates and related processes.
• Identify and drive process improvements in tax compliance workflows.
