SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Sourcing Manager, Indirect for Starlink. You will lead procurement, planning, and supplier negotiations across software, services, and soft categories to enable production flow.

The role requires coordinating with engineering and manufacturing to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in purchasing or 9+ years engineering in lieu, strong ERP/MRP experience, and proven results in cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management, or 9+ years engineering in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems and managing BOMs, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Experience with forecasting, demand planning, and analysis across categories like MRO and VMI.
• Ability to prioritize multiple on-going projects and rapidly learn new manufacturing processes.
• Strong track record for achieving results; must be able to reference wins and quantify impact.
• Strong skills in data analysis using Excel, SQL, and PowerBI.
• Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines across the Starlink ecosystem.
• Familiar with Indirect procurement and the intricacies of procuring and coordinating services, software, and other soft categories.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills, with strong ability to communicate to all levels of internal personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
• History of self-learning & application of newly learned tools & techniques.
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs.
• APICS certification, Six Sigma certification, or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate contracts, place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to software, services, and other indirect categories.
• Manage preferred supplier network to support Indirect Starlink procurement.
• Communicate clearly and rapidly to influence decisions of vendors and senior leadership.
• Responsible for authoring of contract documents with the legal department.
• Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Create sourcing strategies for all soft services, software, and legal categories.
• Develop a preferred supplier network and leverage it to minimize cost/maximize efficacy.
• Solve complex, open-ended problems with an emphasis on speed and efficiency.
• Perform reviews of vendor capabilities.
• Management of contracts ensuring performance of the supplier meets contract obligations.
• Understand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning.
• Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefit while lowering risk.
