Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager, Mechanical Commodities (Starlink) in Redmond, WA to lead supplier development, cost management, and strategic sourcing for Starlink satellites and ground stations. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute sourcing strategies and optimize total cost of ownership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in related fields or 7+ years of experience, strong negotiation skills, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations or supply chain management, or material cost control.
• 7+ years of experience in one or more of the listed areas as an alternative.
• Travel up to 30% may be required; onsite in Redmond, WA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the supply base to support sourcing for Starlink satellites and subsystems.
• Provide weekly team status reporting and elevate to management when necessary.
• Train and mentor the team to ensure continuous improvement.
• Negotiate with key suppliers to support cost management strategies.
• Develop sourcing and cost reduction strategies aligned with program budgets.
• Build and own project budgets and capitalization plans based on timelines.
