Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a strategic Indirect Sourcing Manager to lead procurement of indirect goods across the Americas. You will develop sourcing strategies, manage end-to-end activities, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities include partnering with Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, and Legal to align needs with contracting processes, optimizing supplier performance, and supporting digital procurement tools adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
• 5+ years of indirect procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
• Proven ability to analyze data and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, or Ariba.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Indirect Sourcing Manager to lead the procurement and sourcing of indirect goods and services (including Maintenance, Repair, Operations, Marketing, Facilities, HR services, Professional & Consultancy Services) across the Americas region. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiencies while ensuring quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract management
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships
• Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Legal) to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies and contracting process
• Supports the Global Category Managers in the development, implementation and adoption of a clear category strategy in region
• Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes aligned with the wider Indirect Procurement Team
• Drive supplier performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards
• Monitor market trends and risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies
• Support adoption of digital procurement tools and systems (e.g., e-sourcing platforms) as part of the wider procurement strategy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field (MBA or relevant certification preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, with a focus on indirect categories
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills
• Proven ability to analyze data and drive cost-saving initiatives
• Experience with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Ariba)
