Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking an Indirect Sourcing Manager to lead procurement for indirect goods and services across the Americas. You will develop sourcing strategies, optimize supplier performance, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring quality and compliance.

The role requires 5+ years of indirect procurement experience, strong negotiation and contract management skills, and collaboration with Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, and Legal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (MBA or relevant certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, or supply chain focusing on indirect categories.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  • Experience with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Ariba).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Legal) to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies and contracting process.
  • Support the Global Category Managers in developing, implementing and adopting a clear category strategy in region.
  • Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
  • Drive supplier performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Monitor market trends and risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Support adoption of digital procurement tools and systems (e-sourcing platforms) as part of the wider procurement strategy.

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Indirect Sourcing Manager to lead the procurement and sourcing of indirect goods and services (including Maintenance, Repair, Operations, Marketing, Facilities, HR services, Professional & Consultancy Services) across the Americas region. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiencies while ensuring quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract management
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships

  • Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field (MBA or relevant certification preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, with a focus on indirect categories
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills
  • Proven ability to analyze data and drive cost-saving initiatives
  • Experience with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Ariba)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

The total compensation for this position ranges from $107,200 - $176,880/yr (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, & abilities of the applicant and the alignment with the internal team & market data). This role offers a competitive Business Profit Plan. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
