Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking an experienced Indirect Sourcing Lead to drive procurement activities that support plant operations and strategic initiatives.

You will manage MRO materials, indirect goods/services, CAPEX projects, and urgent needs while ensuring compliance with procedures and budgets. You will oversee requisition-to-PO, coordinate supplier quotes, support negotiations, expedite orders, and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field; equiv. experience considered.
• 10+ years in procurement, purchasing, indirect sourcing, or CAPEX purchasing.
• Experience managing purchase requisitions/POs, supplier follow-up, expediting, and controls.
• Experience with CAPEX procurement projects, quotes, scope clarification, negotiations, and PO execution.
• Experience with ERP/purchasing/asset management systems (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/EAM/Jaggaer).
• Advanced Excel for reporting, KPI tracking, data analysis, and pivot tables.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Advanced English proficiency with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead requisition-to-PO processes for MRO materials and indirect goods/services.
• Coordinate supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations.
• Expedite critical orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Monitor metrics like backlog, PO cycle times, supplier delivery, service levels, and CAPEX status.
• Drive supplier accountability and contribute to cost savings via consolidation and strategic sourcing.

Position Summary

The Indirect Sourcing Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating indirect procurement activities that support manufacturing operations, facilities, maintenance, engineering, and capital projects. This role leads the review, prioritization, and execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders for MRO materials, indirect goods and services, CAPEX investments, and operational requirements while ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies, budget controls, and business objectives.

The position serves as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, driving supplier performance, purchasing efficiency, cost optimization, and operational continuity. The Indirect Sourcing Lead partners closely with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement execution and support plant objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, International Relations, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, indirect sourcing, supply chain, inventory control, MRO procurement, services procurement, or CAPEX purchasing.
• Experience managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, expediting activities, and purchasing controls.
• Experience supporting CAPEX procurement projects, including supplier quotation management, scope clarification, negotiation support, and PO execution.
• Experience working with ERP, purchasing, or asset management systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, EAM, Jaggaer, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, KPI tracking, data analysis, and pivot tables.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Advanced English proficiency, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Experience supporting manufacturing, automotive, or industrial operations.
• Experience managing MRO inventories and replenishment strategies.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives focused on supplier consolidation, standardization, and cost reduction.

Position Overview

This role reviews, prioritizes, and manages purchasing requirements for MRO materials, indirect goods and services, CAPEX projects, and urgent operational needs while ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities include managing the requisition-to-purchase order process, coordinating supplier quotations, supporting commercial negotiations, expediting critical orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. The position works closely with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other functional teams to clarify requirements, resolve procurement issues, and support project execution.

The role monitors purchasing performance through key metrics such as backlog management, purchase order cycle times, supplier delivery performance, service levels, and CAPEX project status. Additionally, the Indirect Sourcing Lead drives supplier accountability, supports contract and commercial discussions, and identifies opportunities for cost savings through supplier consolidation, standardization, strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and cost avoidance programs.

This position also provides functional guidance to buyers, MRO coordinators, and internal stakeholders regarding purchasing processes, approvals, budget controls, plant priorities, and sourcing best practices. Success in the role requires strong prioritization skills, excellent stakeholder management, supplier relationship management, and the ability to balance operational urgency with sound procurement practices.
