Indirect Procurement Manager

Position Summary

The Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, spend analytics, and procurement governance across a broad portfolio of indirect non-IT spend categories. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, drive cost savings, mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and maximize value from supplier relationships while supporting corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign, lead and prioritize procurement activities while providing direction, assignments, coaching, and support to procurement team members.
  • Oversees and perform reviews and approval of a full range of team members activities.
  • Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies for indirect spend areas, including professional services, facilities, HR services, marketing, travel, and other corporate categories.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop procurement solutions that align with operational and financial objectives.
  • Conduct market assessments, supplier evaluations, and competitive sourcing events to identify best-value solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing activities, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier negotiations, contract execution, and supplier performance management.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, evaluate commercial terms, and perform price and cost analyses to ensure competitive and reasonable pricing.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, statements of work, master service agreements, and other indirect procurement contracts.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships that promote collaboration, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage procurement dashboards, spend analytics, savings reports, and key performance indicators to support informed business decisions.
  • Manage supplier performance through structured business reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support budget planning and forecasting activities through spend analysis and category insights.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, delegated authority requirements, audit standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement best practices, contracting strategies, and risk mitigation approaches.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, improve efficiencies, and enhance user experience through automation and digital procurement tools.
  • Support both domestic and global sourcing initiatives across multiple business units and geographic regions.
  • Champion procurement governance and drive adoption of procurement processes and preferred supplier programs.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement category management and sourcing strategies that deliver measurable cost savings and business value.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and spend analysis capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to identify business challenges, structure solutions, and execute procurement initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to manage sensitive or high-pressure situations professionally.
  • Experience with procurement analytics, reporting tools, and supplier performance management methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and e-procurement systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP or similar platforms preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, workflow automation tools, and procurement technologies is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of commercial contract structures, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Fixed Price, Time & Materials, and Cost-Reimbursable contracts.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain experience, with significant focus on indirect spend categories.
  • Experience managing complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations in a global or multinational environment.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPSD, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
