Job summary

Bunge in Channahon, IL is seeking a Purchasing Agent to act as the primary liaison for internal customers on procurement questions and to manage local requisitions for indirect spend. You will execute requisitions, verify specifications, screen suppliers, and coordinate with Sourcing Managers to ensure compliant, timely purchasing.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree preferred and at least two years of purchasing experience; SAP and MS Office skills are valuable assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant discipline; high school diploma required.
• Minimum of two years relevant purchasing experience required.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to document and evaluate complex subjects.
• Familiar with defined procurement P2P processes and supplier markets.

Responsibilities

• Act as single point of contact for internal customers on procurement questions.
• Manage local purchase requisitions for indirect spend per defined strategies.
• Verify requisition quality and buying channels, align with end users.
• Screen and select suppliers per category strategy; process orders and follow ups.
• Ensure adherence to local procurement guidelines and contract usage.
• Coordinate with local planning on production schedules and MRP levels.
• Support local supplier qualification and contract implementation tasks.
