Bechtel Corporation in Reston, VA seeks a Senior Indirect Estimating Supervisor to lead the Indirects Estimating group, delivering professional services estimates across heavy civil, airport, rail, renewable, and clean energy sectors.

You will perform historical data analysis, maintain the historical database, and supervise the estimate process without engaging in construction distributable estimating. Strong coaching and data skills are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, business management or related field or 15+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Estimating or Project Controls.
• Experience with indirect estimate development and cost data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Provide day-to-day guidance to direct reports and coach on priorities.
• Perform quality checks and reviews of indirect estimator deliverables.
• Lead professional services cost estimates for PMCM/billing rate structures.
• Oversee yearly updates of service-related cost variables (salary ranges, PIR, pay adds, insurances).
• Analyze staffing plan inputs and assist estimate basis documentation.

Job Summary

Supervise the Indirects Estimating group, which is responsible to prepare and present Professional services estimates in heavy civil, airport, rail, Renewable and Clean Energy. Perform historical data analysis and maintain the historical database. Scope does not include construction distributable estimating, which will be supervised separately.

Major Responsibilities

• The following duties are performed with respect to Estimate Execution, the process of conducting an evaluation of services and/or capital cost elements of a project or effort as defined by an agreed-upon scope that will be used to make key management decisions:

1. Provides day to day guidance to direct reports to clarify priorities as well as to provide technical coaching.
2. Performs quality checks and reviews of all indirect estimator deliverables.
3. Leads professional services cost estimates for PMCM / billing rate type estimates. Reads RFP / contracts and translates into billing rate structure.
4. Oversees yearly updates of services related cost variables (salary ranges, PIR, pay adds, insurances, etc)
5. Performs analysis on functional input to staffing plan.
6. Provides input to estimate basis documentation capturing assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions and exclusions for specific contributions.
7. Provides support for special estimating and other assignments, including post-Proposal support converting the estimate to a budget (budgeting, revenue loading, data entry and collection, etc.)
8. Manages process for collecting historical data and historical data reporting.
9. Prepares and / or oversees preparation of metrics reports for Management reviews.
10. Analyzes metrics reports during proposal process and provides observations to proposal team.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, business management or related field OR minimum of 15 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Estimating or Project Controls.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with indirect estimate development
• Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability to present cost information to peers and management.
• Demonstrates inclusive leadership and teamwork as an associate project or discipline estimator. Values diverse perspectives from teammates.
• Ability to support and take guidance from project estimators or estimating managers for the development of estimates from inception to completion.
• Ability to ensure estimate quality and integrity, including quality data checks.
• Basic knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction functions customarily acquired through experience in the EPC industry.
• Experience using standard software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and PowerBI to assess estimating and project performance data.
• Right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship
