Job summary

United American Indian Involvement, Inc. is seeking a Workforce Specialist to assess customers’ employment needs, create comprehensive service plans, and guide them toward unsubsidized, full-time work.

The role involves ongoing counseling, training, and building partnerships with local agencies and employers to expand resources and opportunities. The position requires onsite work with field activities and travel across Los Angeles County.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or combination of equivalent education and experience.
• 1-3 years related work experience in workforce development or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth assessments of customers’ employment needs and develop service plans.
• Lead customers toward full-time, unsubsidized employment.
• Provide ongoing training, supportive employment counseling, coaching and mentoring.
• Build partnerships with community agencies and businesses for shared resources and training opportunities.
• Research opportunities for career pathways and other training programs.
• Conduct outreach and recruitment and determine eligibility; enter documentation and submit reports.
• Travel to outreach events and work onsite and in the field as required.
