Job summary

Bomgaars is seeking a friendly cashier for our Madison, IN location. The role offers part-time hours, onsite work, and the opportunity to provide friendly, efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating the register, handling transactions, maintaining a clean checkout area, and supporting store promotions. A background in retail helps, and weekend availability is welcome with shift premium.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Cashier and retail experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Detail oriented.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time.
• Committed to excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends).

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately (cash, correct change, credit cards, debit cards, and checks)
• Scan and bag items for customers
• Process customer returns and exchanges according to store policy
• Promote store loyalty programs/special promotions/coupon redemption
• Balance cash drawers at the end of the shift
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area
• Stocking the front end of the store
• Handling phone calls
