Job summary

Bomgaars is hiring a friendly Cashier for our North Vernon, IN location. This full-time, onsite role offers daily customer interactions, cash handling, and processing transactions with a focus on service excellence.

You will greet customers, operate the cash register, bag items, and assist with returns while promoting store programs. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods, with shift flexibility including weekends.

Bomgaars is seeking a friendly, outgoing individual with Cashier and retail experience. Cashier positions offer an opportunity to be a productive team member while providing excellent customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years or older


• Cashier and retail experience preferred


• Ability to multi-task


• Detail oriented


• Clear and concise communication skills


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time


• Committed to excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction


• Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and welcome customers


• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately (cash, correct change, credit cards, debit cards, and checks)


• Scan and bag items for customers


• Process customer returns and exchanges according to store policy


• Promote store loyalty programs/special promotions/coupon redemption


• Balance cash drawers at the end of the shift
  
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area


• Handling phone calls

Wage: $13.50 per hour
