Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Fitter Fabricator to independently perform layout, fit-up, and fabrication activities using MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW processes. The role requires reading complex drawings and operating cutting machinery with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include advanced layout, torch/plasma cutting, dimensional verification, and mentoring junior fabricators. This is an on-site, full-time position with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete inhouse training of AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.
• Proven fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
• Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW welding.
• Weld in all positions to AWS D1.1. D1.5 standards. (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G)
• Perform advance torch and plasma cutting operations
• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
• Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist with training junior fabricators.
