Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Fitter Fabricator to independently perform layout, fitting, and fabrication using advanced blueprint interpretation and equipment operation on-site in the Richmond, VA area.

The role requires hands-on welding and cutting across multiple processes along with strict adherence to drawings and tolerances. The successful candidate will have proven fabrication experience, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and participate in in-house AISC

Qualifications

• Inhouse training of AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.
• Proven fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
• Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW welding.
• Weld in all positions to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G).
• Perform torch and plasma cutting operations.
• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
• Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist with training junior fabricators.
