Job summary

CoramBAAF seeks qualified social workers to conduct adoption assessments on a freelance basis, with supervision from a Practice Manager and access to training events. You will perform initial visits, complete AARs, and contribute to panel reporting.

Applicants should have registration with SW England, at least 2 years post-qualifying experience, a full driving licence, and be willing to travel, with occasional virtual work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial visits to prospective adopters and complete full adoption assessments.
• Prepare Adoption Assessment Reports (AARs) and report to Panel.
• Attend reviews or matching panels as needed.
• Travel to assignments and occasionally work virtually with adopters.

Job description

We are looking for qualified and experienced Social Workers who have experience of carrying out adoption assessments. Although you will work independently as an external consultant on a freelance basis, you will be supervised and supported in your work by a Practice Manager and will be invited to training events and external consultant forums on a regular basis.

• To be prepared to work face-to-face and occasionally virtually with prospective adopters
• Full driving licence and prepared to travel
• 2-years post-qualifying Social Work experience
• Registration with SW England

The role will include initial visits to prospective adopters, completing full adoption assessments and writing AARs (Adoption Assessment Reports), reporting to Panel, and occasional additional work to support our families, such as attending reviews or matching panels. There is an agreed fee for completing this work and travel expenses are paid, as well as occasional essential accommodation.
