Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Team. You will supervise foster carers, carry out unannounced visits, and support annual reviews to ensure children are safe and thriving.

Applicants must hold a social work qualification with registration in England and have ASYE completion, plus substantial post-qualifying experience in children and families. Expect flexible hours and potential homeworking within the North & Mid Fostering area.

Job description

We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join a Fostering Team.

Do not apply if you do not have a Social Work qualification with a minimum 3 years permanent experience.

About the Team

This role involves supporting and supervising foster carers to ensure children are safe, well cared for, and thriving in their placements. This includes unannounced visits, annual reviews, quality assurance, and helping deliver training to new and existing foster carers, while ensuring all work complies with fostering legislation and national standards.

About You

Skills & Experience:

• -A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
• -Satisfactory completion your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
• -Robust post qualifying social work experience within children and families
• -Exceptional communication and relationship skills
• -A sound knowledge of fostering regulations and legislation.
• -Experience of working within Fostering and/or demonstration of transferrable skills from another current or previous role.
• -Exceptional time-management, recording and planning skills
• -A willingness to work across the whole of the North & Mid Fostering area.

Social workers need to manage their caseloads, visit children as required, and be flexible with working arrangements, with some potential for homeworking.

Pay rate: £38 per hour umbrella (PAYE payment options available also)
