Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar in the Carpenter Spectroscopy Group within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Administration. Qualifications

  • PhD in chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, or related discipline.
  • Past postdoctoral experience in spectroscopy and imaging of molecular systems with publications.
  • Experience with operation and alignment of laser instrumentation; programming in MATLAB/Python/LabVIEW.
  • Strong written and oral communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and learning new techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent experiments in single-molecule and single-particle spectroscopy.
  • Establish and benchmark single-particle microscopy and spectroscopy setups.
  • Prepare samples and protocols for experiments; calibrate optical systems.
  • Contribute to lab development, assist with funding proposals, and mentor graduate/undergraduate students.
