Job summary

Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions, LLC in Crestview, FL seeks an Independent Peer Mentor and Social Coach to support a high-functioning 20-year-old on the autism spectrum. This part-time, non-clinical role focuses on building social skills through real-world activities and positive guidance.

The position offers flexible scheduling (4 days x 2 hours or 2 days x 4 hours per week) and a 1099 contract arrangement.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; attitude, reliability and character valued.
• Strong role model who leads by example and demonstrates positive habits.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (gas/mileage not reimbursed).
• Smartphone to track schedule and communicate with office staff.
• Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of onboarding.
• Willing to obtain APD Training Certifications within 90 days of onboarding (free online courses).

Responsibilities

• Hang out with the client and help navigate social settings.
• Assist with activities such as gym workouts, fishing, shopping, gaming, bowling and putt-putt.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time | 8 Hours Per Week

At the direct request of the client and his family for a "big brother" style role model, we are seeking a male mentor to help the client practice social skills in the real world. This is a great opportunity for college students, fitness enthusiasts, or early-career professionals looking for a fun, rewarding side hustle that looks great on a resume.

What does a typical shift look like?

Our work is home healthcare, but this role operates more like a professional wingman or coach. The client is conversational, high-functioning, and does not need medical assistance or clinical support. He just needs a solid guy to hang out with and help him navigate social settings. A typical shift includes teaming up with the client to do activities like...

• Hitting the gym and working out


• Going fishing or shopping at Bass Pro Shops


• Playing video games at home or going to the arcade


• Bowling or playing putt-putt at the mall


• Grabbing lunch and practicing social skills (like mock job interviews)
