Job summary

American Optical is seeking an experienced Independent Sales Representative to develop and grow wholesale business throughout the Rockies territory. You will operate as an independent business, identifying new accounts and expanding relationships with specialty retailers.

The role requires proven outside sales success, strong prospecting skills, and the ability to travel extensively within the territory, including overnight trips as needed to pursue opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outside/territory wholesale or account sales success.
• Proven ability to develop new business and grow accounts.
• Strong relationship-building and business-development skills.
• Experience managing a sales territory and customer pipeline.
• Familiarity with B2B sales processes and ordering platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic tech tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiations, and listening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with specialty retailers and premium optical accounts in the territory.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue wholesale opportunities and new accounts.
• Present American Optical products, brand positioning, and value to customers.
• Devise an independent territory business-development strategy to grow wholesale sales.
• Cultivate existing accounts for additional product placement and reorder business.
• Attend trade shows and industry events as a representative of American Optical.
• Maintain sales records and provide updates on activity and results.
