Position Summary:

The IME Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for reviewing independent medical examination reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory guidelines. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity and credibility of IME reports used in workers' compensation, disability, and liability claims. This is a full-time remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review IME reports for quality, clarity, consistency, and adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
  2. Ensure that medical opinions are well-supported, evidence-based, and clearly stated.
  3. Identify and correct formatting, grammatical, and structural issues in medical reports.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, medical directors, and administrative staff to clarify or resolve discrepancies.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, medical terminology, and relevant legal requirements.
  6. Provide feedback and coaching to medical providers and transcription staff to support ongoing quality improvement.
  7. Track and report quality metrics, audit results, and trends.
  8. Assist in developing and updating QA policies, procedures, and training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience in IME, medical QA, claims management, or related healthcare field.
  2. Strong understanding of medical terminology, report writing, and healthcare documentation.
  3. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to assess medical content.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Experience working with worker's compensation, disability claims, or legal medical reviews.
