Job summary

Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. seeks a dedicated supporter to assist individuals with disabilities in living independently within their communities. The role emphasizes mentorship, relationship building, and helping people connect to community resources.

You will help with daily living activities, such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, medication support, bill paying, and personal care, while fostering connections to clubs or volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience working with persons with disabilities or in a mentor/teaching position that assists individuals.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and insured vehicle.
• Ability to support individuals to live independently, including activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Ability to support individuals to live independently in their community.
• Work as a mentor and build relationships with individuals to assist them to connect to their community.
• Ability to support individuals with any activities of daily living that are needed to live independently (e.g., cleaning, cooking, laundry, medication support, bill paying, personal care).
• Ability to develop community relationships that foster connections between the person supported and community organizations (volunteer or join a club).
• Ability to make decisions and work independently.
