Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services seeks an Independent Living Skills Coach in Minneapolis, MN. This entry-level role supports clients with person-centered engagement, medication administration, and overall program safety.

The position runs Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 4pm–12:30am in Minneapolis, with a $22-$23.76 hourly pay range and a $2/hour evening shift differential. This role includes responsibilities in documentation, meals, and client support.

Qualifications

• Must have 2000 hours in health & human services within last 10 years.
• GED or HS Diploma required; OR
• AA or 2 years postsecondary in behavioral science or human services; OR
• 2+ years postsecondary or 15 sem/23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences; OR
• Within 10 years, 3 years of personal life experience with mental illness; OR
• Within 10 years, 3 years as caregiver to an adult with mental illness/TBI/disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Document client interactions in the EHR and related systems with clear communication.
• Prepare, serve, and clear meals per schedule and safety standards.
• Administer medications per policy and procedure.
• Perform daily housekeeping and rounds to ensure clean, safe client environments.
• Support clients in managing mental health through coping skills and alternatives.

Education

2000 hours health & human services experience

GED or High School Diploma

AA or 2 years postsecondary in behavioral science or human services

2 years postsecondary or 15 sem hours / 23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences

3 years personal life experience with mental illness

3 years life experience as primary caregiver to an adult with mental illness / TBI / SUD / developmental disability
