Job summary

Project Genesis, Inc. in Connecticut is seeking compassionate Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILSTs) to help individuals with acquired brain injuries develop skills and confidence for greater independence.

You will work one-on-one with clients, teach daily living skills, problem-solving, budgeting, transportation, and community access, with shifts including 2nd shift on Sundays. This is a full-time/part-time opportunity with a supportive team and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two (2) years of verifiable experience working with individuals with brain injuries, or;
• A bachelor's degree plus at least one (1) year of verifiable brain injury-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, job readiness, and using public transportation.
• Coach clients in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and document client achievements.
• Support clients in meeting health, safety, and personal goals.
• Connect individuals with community resources that promote independence and success.
• Encourage confidence, self-advocacy, and personal growth every step of the way.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years brain injury experience

Bachelor's degree with 1+ year brain injury experience
