Job summary

SAIL in Sitka, Alaska is seeking a community resource advocate to assist seniors, caregivers, and people experiencing disabilities with information, referrals, intake, and access to long-term services and supports.

You will greet visitors, manage a multi-line phone system, complete initial intake, and help clients navigate Medicaid Waiver and Independent Living options while promoting programs and maintaining grant compliance.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills, including ability to build trust and navigate options.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written communication; ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with data management systems and general administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referrals to people with disabilities, seniors, and families.
• Complete initial intake for SAIL programs.
• Manage Sitka Loan Closet Program including checkout, return, cleaning and organization.
• Represent SAIL as the initial friendly face for community members.
• Follow up to ensure needed services are in place or provide additional options.
• Enter data into a data management system accurately.
• Promote and publicize SAIL programs.
• Assist individuals to access Mini Grants and other resources.
• Maintain administrative processes to ensure grant compliance and reporting.
