Access Alaska Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Independent Living Advocate Position with our Anchorage Office. An Ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem solving skills and be familiar with the community resources. This position will actively assist people experiencing disabilities to live independently in the community of their choice by establishing and achieving goals related to physical, emotional, economic, and overall independence. The Independent Living Advocate works alongside consumers to overcome barriers and acquire life skills so they can succeed with their self-identified objectives. This position provides information and guidance related to various types of vocational, educational, housing, transportation and other community resources. The Independent Living Advocates will engage in development of goal plans; networking and outreach i the community, timely data entry ad provide referrals as needed.
