Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Union County is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities in Mountainside, NJ. You will help build independence through outings, computer learning, and daily living skills.

The role involves coaching, creating routines, and supporting decision-making while ensuring safety. Schedule is two days per week, four hours each day, with onboarding and documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability support, or caregiving is a plus.
• Able to commit reliably to agreed schedule.
• Driving required.
• Able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training.

Responsibilities

• Grocery shopping, computer learning, community outings, walks, library visits, and job searching.
• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.
• Helping establish routines and work toward individualized goals.
• Modeling problem-solving, communication, and healthy community participation.
• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.
• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.
• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.
• Completing required documentation and communicating with the Kindly team.
