Job summary

Kindly is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in New Jersey to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in homes and communities. DSPs help individuals build life skills, pursue goals, and participate in activities that increase independence and community involvement.

This role goes beyond caregiving, acting as mentors, advocates, and trusted supports who empower people to live fuller lives with dignity and choice.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.
Ability to complete required training and certification requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor is important.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

Support individuals in participating in community activities, recreation, volunteer opportunities, and social events.
Assist individuals in developing friendships and building natural supports; encourage independence and self-advocacy.
Help individuals pursue personal interests, hobbies, employment, educational, and life goals.
Maintain accurate and timely service documentation; use electronic systems for scheduling and communication.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members; participate in meetings and trainings.
