Job summary

CHI Friendship in Fargo, ND seeks a Job Coach to support people with developmental disabilities in achieving independence and meaningful community involvement. You will empower individuals, learn about their goals, and advocate for person-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities include training with QIDP, documenting progress, and helping with health, safety, nutrition, and daily living skills, while maintaining transportation and natural supports.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Driver's License: ND, upon hire
• Auto Insurance, upon hire
• One year of work experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Attends program training with the QIDP and accurately implements all OSP/PCSP programs, learning objectives, and supports.
• Attends team meetings and completes assessments as requested
• Documents in an accurate and timely manner in all applicable records, charts and files of people supported
• Learns about people’s vocational, community and social interests through experience and exposure
• Assists people to remain connected to their natural supports (family, close friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.)
• Supports people to be active members of the community by emphasizing choices and options
• Maintains a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and has access to a vehicle
• Learns about the best possible health needs and medications for the person supported
• Supports people to attend medical appointments and follow-up recommendations
• Administers medications and completes treatments according to the Medication Administration Record
• Maintains current First Aid and CPR certification
• Assists and supports people to have a safe and clean living and working environment
• Learns about nutritional and healthy lifestyle recommendations through meal planning and preparation
• Supports people to look their best by assisting in hygiene, grooming, and attire
• Assists people supported to learn about personal finances and budgeting
• Assists with financial expenditures and budgeting and keeps accurate records
• Uses the department’s procurement card appropriately
• Assists and supports people to learn about their rights and prevent abuse
• Advocates for people and promotes dignity and respectful interactions
• Serves as an advocate and connects with employers and community members for supports
