Job summary

NaphCare is seeking an Independent Mental Health Professional to support the San Diego County Jails in CA. You will assess, diagnose, and treat inmates, deliver individual counseling and group therapy, and collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and correctional staff to ensure continuity of care.

The role requires a CA license, 3+ years of clinical experience in mental health, and the ability to work effectively in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Active licensure in CA as LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LMHP/LISW/LPCC or equivalent.
• Active BLS CPR certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical mental health experience, preferably in correctional care.
• Knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders, discharge planning, psychotropic medications.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and develop treatment plans.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat inmates with mental illnesses.
• Develop and implement individual treatment plans.
• Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy.
• Manage caseload and coordinate with other professionals.
• Respond to mental health crises and provide stabilization.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance.
