Job summary

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking an experienced residential garage door technician ready to expand into commercial doors, loading docks, and gates. This 1099 contractor role offers uncapped commissions, weekly payments, flexible scheduling, and in-field support.

You will perform repair, installation, and preventive maintenance for residential and commercial doors, with initial training in Fort Worth, TX to learn company standards. A strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of residential garage door experience (W-2 or 1099 accepted).
• Must own a pickup truck that is 20 years old or newer.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and climbing ladders or using scissor lifts.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to service jobs within an approximately 90-mile radius of the market center.
• Willingness to attend an initial 12-Day commercial training session in Fort Worth, TX to learn OGD's standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial service calls — doors, loading docks, and gates.
• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions professionally.
• Use OGD's job-routing platform to accept jobs and communicate status.
• Maintain high level of customer service throughout each job.
• Follow industry-standard safety practices while performing work.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and/or scissor lifts.
• Remove and haul away old garage doors and equipment.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work order updates.

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking experienced residential garage door technicians ready to expand into commercial doors, loading docks, and gates. In this 1099 contractor role, you will provide commercial and residential garage door repair, installation, and maintenance services as a flex technician, while delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in residential garage door installation, servicing, and repair is required (W-2 or 1099 experience accepted).

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial service calls — doors, loading docks, and gates
• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions in a professional manner
• Use OGD's job-routing platform to accept available jobs and communicate job status
• Maintain a high level of customer service throughout each job
• Perform all work in accordance with industry-standard safety practices
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders and/or scissor lifts
• Remove and haul away old garage doors and equipment
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work order updates

Requirements

• 1+ year of residential garage door experience (W-2 or 1099 accepted)
• Must own a pickup truck that is 20 years old or newer
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and climbing ladders and/or using scissor lifts
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to service jobs within an agreed-upon service area (approximately 90-mile radius of the market center)
• Willingness to attend an initial 12-Day commercial training session in Fort Worth, TX to learn OGD's commercial service standards and systems

Compensation & Contractor Information

• 1099 independent contractor, commission-based
• Uncapped commission earning potential
• Weekly payment
• Contractors set their own schedule and may accept or decline available jobs
• Daily work orders issued from OGD HQ — no lead generation required
• In-field support and technical assistance provided
• Initial commercial hardware, springs, tools, and related equipment are provided by the company
• Paid commercial training provided
