OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking experienced residential garage door technicians to expand into commercial doors, loading docks, and gates. In this 1099 contractor role, you will provide repair, installation, and maintenance services as a flex technician with a strong focus on customer service.

This opportunity targets residential technicians looking to grow their business with a flexible, performance-driven contracting career. A 12-day commercial training is provided in Fort Worth, TX.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in residential garage door installation, servicing, and repair.
• Must own a pickup truck 20 years old or newer.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and using ladders/scissor lifts.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to train in Fort Worth, TX for commercial standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial service calls for doors, loading docks, and gates.
• Perform residential repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions.
• Use OGD's routing platform to accept jobs and update status.
• Maintain high levels of customer service throughout each job.
• Follow safety practices and operate tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work orders.

Position Overview

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking experienced residential garage door technicians ready to expand into commercial doors, loading docks, and gates. In this 1099 contractor role, you will provide commercial and residential garage door repair, installation, and maintenance services as a flex technician, while delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.

This opportunity is ideal for residential technicians looking to grow their business, increase earning potential, and build a flexible, performance-driven contracting career.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in residential garage door installation, servicing, and repair is required (W-2 or 1099 experience accepted).

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial service calls — doors, loading docks, and gates
• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions in a professional manner
• Use OGD's job-routing platform to accept available jobs and communicate job status
• Maintain a high level of customer service throughout each job
• Perform all work in accordance with industry-standard safety practices
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders and/or scissor lifts
• Remove and haul away old garage doors and equipment
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work order updates

Requirements

• 1+ year of residential garage door experience (W-2 or 1099 accepted)
• Must own a pickup truck that is 20 years old or newer
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and climbing ladders and/or using scissor lifts
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to service jobs within an agreed-upon service area (approximately 90-mile radius of the market center)
• Willingness to attend an initial 12-Day commercial training session in Fort Worth, TX to learn OGD's commercial service standards and systems

Compensation & Contractor Information

• 1099 independent contractor, commission-based
• Uncapped commission earning potential
• Weekly payment
• Contractors set their own schedule and may accept or decline available jobs
• Daily work orders issued from OGD HQ — no lead generation required
• In-field support and technical assistance provided
• Initial commercial hardware, springs, tools, and related equipment are provided by the company
• Paid commercial training provided
