Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO from US/Canada LCME/COCA-accredited medical school or ECFMG certification.
• Completion of an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the US or equivalent territory.
• Minimum of one year post graduate experience within the last two years.
• Current BLS certification with Hands-On skills from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical examinations.
• Review required medical tests and documents for consultations and histories.
• Secure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
• Assess medical documentation and render opinions on fitness for programs.
• Apply accession medical standards to determine qualifications.
• Become proficient in applying standards to determine military suitability.
• Provide respect for applicant dignity and confidentiality.
• Comply with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and installation policies.
• Participate in MEPS medical peer reviews and related duties.
• Maintain electronic medical records and respond to emails as required.
• Communicate effectively with all parties and other providers.
